Cover Reveal - Bloodpledge, Book 2 in The Dantonville Legacy

It's been exactly eight months since I released the first book in my Dantonville Legacy series— Bloodgifted—on Smashwords, and six months since it's release on Amazon.
I was thrilled that it spent its first three months among Amazon's Top 100 Hot New Releases, reaching as high as #38.
Now, Book 2 is on its way—Bloodpledge. So, to whet your appetite and get those juices running in preparation for its late June release, I'm revealing the cover.

Unlike Book 1—Bloodgifted, which featured Laura on the front cover, a red theme and a troop of Roman cavalry embedded in the background—Book 2 has a purple theme, meant to emphasise the lavender eyes common to the Brethren. My very talented cover designer, Patti Roberts, has also incorporated an Aussie feel to it. If you look carefully, next to Alec's head, there's a subtle silhouette of the Sydney Harbour Bridge.

While on the back, there's an image of Laura and next to her shoulder—again, if you look carefully—you can see the Sydney Opera House.
The book description is yet to be added. Hopefully in the next few weeks.

What does everyone think? I'd love to get some feedback, because no matter what the old adage says about judging a book by its cover, we all do it, don't we?

Great cover! Did you design it yourself? A good idea having that connection to the first book on the back cover.

I like how the colours match his eyes and having the subtle images of two Sydney icons in the background. I agree with Diane regarding the back cover. Looks good!

Thanks Diane. I had the license for the male model for over a year and so decided it was time I used him! My graphics designer, Patti Roberts did the rest. Having my heroine, Laura on the back cover linked it well. That way readers will know the series continues.

Thanks Debbie, I love how Patti incorporated typical Sydney icons into the cover. After all, it's an Aussie story! Lol! We thought the background colour should by different from Book 1 - Bloodgifted - but still reflect the story. Purple was perfect, as it's the distinct colour of Alec and Laura's eyes.

Thanks Michelle, I just hope it draws in a lot of readers. Who says people don't judge a book by its cover?
